take my hand off the wheel. take my hand, and I’ll follow you down, follow you down, down to the point where the floor becomes the ceiling: tell me that it’s real. shape my eyes to see the black and white and the red or green.
make me make up my mind. close the blinds or I’ll follow the sky, follow the clear sky to the point where the wind becomes my breathing. tell me that it’s
defined: this inside; that outside. and how wide is the line?
lace your fingers between mine, and I will spin you around, spin you around,
and round and dance with me between the black and white and the red or green. slowly, turning, freely, turning the wheel.

examine what's on the table: spread all the pieces out, and run a finger down each edge, each curve, every tooth, each notch.
turn over from back to front each fragment, one by one. and press each tongue against each mouth to feel if they interlock.
maybe this game is how I'll know what I'm meant to build before it's made.
maybe this game is how I'll recognize the picture before it all fits together.
lean forward to slide together, lean back to try and catch some promise of a pattern, or a path.
some moments, the focus narrows: one image fills the view. the back-ground fades, becomes an unthought thought.
but I wonder, when I get tired, are all the pieces here? without a 'one' to count from it's impossible to take stock.
maybe this game is how I'll know what I'm meant to build before it's made.
maybe this game is how I'll recognize the picture before it all fits together.
admire the scene created: the holes that may never fill. believing there is just enough to know both what's seen and what's not.

The things I wish you’d say are keeping me up all night
The things I wish you’d say are keeping me awake
Awake and in our bed is just where I want to be
The things I wish you’d say are keeping me away
Away from how I dream you could keep me up all night
Away from how I dream you’re keeping me awake
